Hi, I'm hoping you can answer this question...Approx 15 yrs ago, Vince Gill was on "Hee Haw" and sang a song about missing children. I always remembered the chorus which was "Faces on milk cartons, thrown away and soon forgotten, what if one of those sweet kids were your very own"?? Do you know if this song was ever recorded? Not much to go on, but am taking a chance you might know. Thanks so much.

It's called "The Way Back Home". Vince recorded it when he was with RCA- it was thte title cut from his last album with them. It also appears on a couple of those "collection" cds that are put out. You should be able to find it somewhere.

Oh My, Oh My, This Place Has Changed!!! Lots of lookin' around to do and lots of catcing up to do with long-time good friends! We had snow last week here in Tucson, the weather has just been funky! Gone back to school and I now volunteer at University Hospital Center here in Tucson. Recovering from congestive heart failure with wonderful friends. Again, I am in transtition, so give me time! My name is Stanley Dijkhuis and I'm living in the Netherlands (Europe) Nearly nobody knows Vince Gill over here and I'm doing my utmost to change that, being a huuuuuuuuge Vince fan. I often organize concerts and at this moment I'm busy getting Brent Mason's band The Players to Europe in 2008. In August I do festvial with The Hot Club the Nashville with Pat Bergeson, the former side man of Chet Atkins.

I just read that Vince had a 2 hour broadcast on HDNet. I't is difficult for me to watch that in Europe. Do you know wether there will be a dvd of this concert or wether somebody had taped it or otherwise?I would be so happy to have this concert on dvd. The only thing I'm having is the Live at the Ryman dvd of 1996 (I think).

My question is-- Is there a story behind the Adriana song? That song can make me cry no matter when or where. I have imagined that there is a Mom or Dad whose tragic story happened to capture his attention... hence this song.

Yes your theory holds water...there is a tragic story behind the song "Pretty Little Adriana." Several years ago in Nashville, in 1995, a 12-yr old girl named Adriane was killed in a drive by shooting at a supermarket...she was there shopping with her mom when all of a sudden some gang members decided they wanted to go out and '"kill some white folks"...Adriane (who was black...or to be politically correct, African-American) was hit and killed by a bullet that was meant for a middle-aged white woman. It took them a few years to find out who the killers were, but they eventually found them and they were found guilty and will spend the majority, if not all, of their lives in jail. The only reason why at least one of the defendents didn't get the death sentence was because he had yet to turn 18. Hi Folk's, My name is Pete and I am from Saskatoon,Canada.
I have been a Vince Gill fan from way before he was famous and he always amazes me with his talent and kindness.
Being a guitar player I study Vince's work non stop and I consider him to be the finest guitarist in the world and not just in country music but of all players as he is the complete guitar player.

A lot of players can do the flashy playing and other have great tone,feeling etc but in my opinion no one does or has it all to Vince's degree.

Very happy to be a fan club member and on this site.
