Troubled pop star Amy Winehouse has canceled a Saturday (Jan. 26) appearance at the NRJ Awards in Cannes, France, after opting to enter a rehab clinic at an undisclosed location.

According to a statement, Winehouse is still planning to attend the Feb. 10 Grammy Awards, where she is nominated for six trophies.

"Amy decided to enter the facility today after talks with her record label, management, family and doctors," reads a statement from the Universal Music Group. "She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction and prepare for her planned appearance at the Grammy Awards."

The statement adds that Winehouse checked into rehab "by mutual agreement."

This week, the artist became the subject of an investigation by Scotland Yard over a video that allegedly shows her smoking crack.

I would think they (Grammy Voters) are voting for the music - not letting her drug issues influence them one way or the other.

I've read several articles that say Amy is the "favorite" to win....based on her music - the CD etc.
That said, I want and hope (and think) Vince will win....and just because a few critics say Winehouse is the odds on favorite does not mean she will win.

Finally, I wish her well with her issues and hope she gets help and recovers (Cleans herself up from any drug problems). She is a musical talent that has huge personel problems.

Just my honest (and humble) opinion.

Over at the Hollywood Stock Exchange (it's a game where you buy and sell movie stocks with fake money), Vince has the lowest price of all the AOY nominees at $3.18. Amy Winehouse has the highest price at $7.08. Vince also has the lowest volume at 190,200. This is just to give you an idea as to where the general population stands when it comes to Vince actually winning the award.

At an actual odds site...
Best Country Album Live Odds
Long Trip Alone - Dierks Bentley 5/1
These days - Vince Gill 1/3
Let It Go - Tim McGraw 7/2
5th Gear - Brad Paisley 4/1
It Just Comes Natural - George Strait 5/2

(So Vince is a HEAVY Faviorite at 1 in 3 (33% chance) he will win the Country part)

But:
Album of the Year Live Odds
Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace - Foo Fighters 7/2
These Days - Vince Gill 15/4
River: The Joni Letters - Herbie Hancock 4/1
Graduation - Kanye West 1/3
Back To Black - Amy Winehouse 3/1

Vince is about a 4/1 ....so odds say tuffer to win but not too much different than the others odds....this site has Kanye West a heavy favorite at 1/3 (33% chance) for this award.

Of course this is what people in general think - not necesarily how Grammy voters voted!

So let's hope Eric Clapton is a Grammy voter!
Mary Anne
Grammy voters include musicians, record executives, djs, etc= anyone who is a member of NARAS(think that's the right acronym.

LOL! Good one!
Vince is so respected in the industry, I think his chances are even higher than those odds!

Well since Vince has already taken home 18 grammys we have to think positive that those same voters recognize his genius and what a truly great musician he truly is!

I talked to a member who has a Grammy Vote when I was at the NAMM Show & told me he voted for Vince.
