Just found out some important info about Vince's January dates at the Schermerhorn Symphony Hall in Nashville (Jan 15-16-17, 2009)

My mom spoke to someone from the Schermerhorn, they keep asking her to become a sponsor of theirs. She did remember to ask about Vince's shows in January. The man she spoke to said that you have to buy a package of various shows and Vince is part of that expensive package. You would buy the package and only get to see Vince on 1 of the 3 nights he is performing. So he basically said that the chances of buying a regular ticket to see Vince isn't going to be good - he said you can call back on July 19th to see if anything is available. Also the chances of getting a good seat on any of the nights are not good at all.

So this is kind of depressing news for Vince fans that want to see him 2 or 3 nights like I wanted to. It seems some of Vince's dates this year are at symphony halls and want the public to buy package deals to see other shows including Vince's. This is too bad for people that fly across the country to see him! sad.gif

If you want more info please let me know, this might be kind of confusing to you!

Sorry I couldn't give you better news!

Jeni-
I would like some more info. I live in California and I am planning on going out there to see Vince for this particular event! So, basically you either have to buy the package that includes other people, or you have to wait until July 19th?? Is this man saying tickets may be completely sold out by then?? Can you only get tickets through the Schermerhorn or can will you be able to get them through ticketmaster?? Thanks for the heads up! Any additional info would be great.

Hi Krissie -

The tickets for Vince's particular dates will not be on sale to the general public until July 19th. So unless you are a Subscriber to the Schermerhorn, you can't get Vince's tickets now. They are basically selling pacakge deals for 7 different shows and Vince happens to be a part of that package. So those people buying the packages (run approx $300-1000 pp) will be getting first pick at seats. The man my mom spoke to said the chances of the general public getting seats is quite slim and if there are any seats left they won't be good (looking at the back of Vince's head the whole time, etc). The tickets will only be available through the symphony hall due to their special packaging etc.

I recommend calling the Schermerhorn or going to their website for seating info. I will plan on calling on July 19 to see what is available, if nothing good, I more than likely won't go in January to Nashville.

Hope this helps you......too bad it isn't better news!

Hi Krissie,

I totally planned on flying back to Nashville in January (not the best time to go because of the freezing weather) but to see Vince for 2-3 nights would be totally worth it!!! I plan on calling in July for tickets too just in case, you never know what will happen! Too bad my mom didn't know someone that worked there. She actually works with someone that has a part-time job at the Ryman, so that is handy too! If by chance we get tickets for the January dates, we will have to say HI while we are in Nashville! smile.gif

Let me know if anything else comes up or you find out some info too!

Anna Leighton
I had the same deal for the Palm Desert,Ca. concert. The venue is a subscription situation also but I did end up with orchestral seating and Joan said they are good ones .Good luck on getting tickets smile.gif .
JBC
Palm Desert is a different situation, Anna. They allow you to do a subscription for only one concert. I'm not really surprised about the Schermerhorn. Most of the symphony concerts do this. You have to buy a subscription of several concerts. It looks like I'll not be making that trip to Nashville after all. I'll have to wait for a better opportunity. I did so want to see Vince doing a symphony concert. That would have been different than his usual concerts. I'm sure you'll probably be able to get tickets off ebay if you want to pay the extra amount. That's one of the things that burns me up with subscribers. Instead of leaving those seats for the real fans they buy the tickets and then put up the ones they don't want up on ebay and force people who want them to pay more to get them just so they can profit from them.

So that's how they play the game. What a shame .
