"The Reason Why" takes a 4 point jump to # 52 on the R&R chart. It is increasing in plays and stations are adding it- there are 41 stations that report to R&R playing it(can't tell where it is on the Mediabase Chart, but about 60 stations that report to that chart- many of which also report to R&R- are playing it).

Thanks Mary Anne - that's great that it is heading in the right direction. However, at # 52 this week, it is in the same position it was when it entered the charts 5 weeks ago! (I won't give up though - until it is no longer on the chart)
I sure hope radio helps it along from this point forward. (By comparrison AJ's song is now #20).
One can only hope that radio will wake up and give this song a fair chance.

It is at # 46 on Lon Helton's new chart. Will see where it is on Billboard later. I think this is going to be a "sleeper hit", I'm not worried that it is taking off slowly because it is increasing in plays each day.

Is there a video planned? That sure would boost the song...seems like videos really help the song take off at radio by getting it requested. I hope it continues to climb!!

Mary Anne - I sure hope so ("Sleeper Hit")....It's true it takes some singles 30 (or more) weeks to hit the top of the charts (That's almost 8 months!).
Go Vince!

The fact that he and Alison Krauss will be taping a "CMT Cross Country" show in Sept. that will be aired repeatedly in October, I think will help tremendously not only with the single, but the album sales as well. So if radio wants to drag its feet for now, I'm glad that at least some video help is on the way!
So far it is encouraging that it is headed back up the charts. If I'm not mistaken, it took LeAnn Rimes single almost "forever" to make it to the top and she had a good bit of video exposure for hers as well. So let's 'keep hope alive.!

Me too Rhonda!
I've heard one of my stations promoting the single, but haven't heard the other yet. I'm sure they are, but not always available to listen to the radio.

I've heard it a few times on Waco 100 here but haven't heard it on the other station. Of course I don't listen to the radio that much anymore, since my computer is in between the living room and dining room and my stereo is in my bedroom. I do have my boom box on all day on Saturday, but other than that I don't listen much.

I agree, a video would help it. Not only would it help the song, but it would be great to see Vince in a new video.

Still have not heard it here and can't get through on the phone to request it. I e-mailed all the stations but I think it wasn't positive enough. Itried to make it positive .....I sometimes am misread. I did get a positive response from KMLE Country but they didn't say they would play it.
