My son-in-law Brad left today for Afghanistan after a 15 day leave - he has about 4 or 5 more months left in this deployment. Please pray for his safety and the safety of all of our troops. Thank you. It was so hard for him to leave his family again - his wife and Lily who is 2 1/2 and Briana who is 15 - stepdaughter. They all miss him and love him very much as we do and it is hard to have them apart. It is so hard on all the families all over the US to have their family members in harms way so please remember them all in prayer.

Nina, my turn to return the favor of a prayer. I too have family and friends overseas in the big desert. One nephew, and a longtime friend of my only son will likely soon be joining the others overseas as well. My nephew has already done one tour in Afghanistan and two more in Iraq. He is currently on his third go round in Iraq now. We are all hoping to see him this coming September sometime, and none of us are any to calm about counting the days as they go by.

Our family friend is likely to join many others as a Ranger field medic sometime shortly. He has already been made aware that it will be an almost definite journey he will partake in.

As for your family member retuning to finish his tour... I will gladly pray for his safety as well as his return for good to his loved ones. I will also be praying for (as you mentioned) all of our troops that are or soon to be in harms way. Many people might have different political viewpoints, but we should ALL remember those who are doing what they are sent to do by our military!

Consider my prayer a done deal, and I will continue praying for them all until they all come back home safely wherever they are sent.

Best regards,

Nina:

You KNOW that Brad's name is mentioned in my prayers often! I think of him so much. I will continue to pray for him and for all of the others who are so bravely out there making our days 'comfortable'! GOD Bless Them All!

Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts. It is heartbreaking to see families torn apart like this. He still has about 5 years in the National Guard so he is likely to be deployed again after this one. He did one tour in Iraq 2 years ago and now this in Afghanistan. Continued prayers for safety for all the service men and women who are putting their lives on the line for all of us. Thanks again.
