I was in the bank today depositing a check for my mom and they had the TV on in there...CNN said that T.S. Eduardo made landfall at Sabine Pass and trees and power lines are down from Port Arthur to Galveston. A small portion of I-10 east of Houston had to be closed due to water on the road.

In the Galveston area, all is well. The ferries never stopped running, and minimal flooding has been done in the Houston area, which is rare! A little thunder boomer usually floods houses!!!!!!!!!! I am 19 miles from Galveston, and my daughter is more like 100 miles from Galveston. She got more rain and wind that I did.
Gilchrist, Winnie, Beaumont areas got lots of rain.
I'm getting in my car in a few minutes to go to my daughter's house, and I will be driving right through it. There is no more here than a regular summer rain storm. In fact - - - we had more than this a few days ago.
If we EVER get the BIG ONE - - - - it's gonna be bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you're ok, Cathy! I was wondering what kind of weather you actually did have and if it knocked down your power lines. I was just outside to get the mail and it was raining some...but we need more than what it's currently doing, that's for sure! Be safe on the way to your daughter's house...she's in the Woodlands, right? I know she's somewhere on the northern outskirts of Houston.
