You may or may not have voted in the past on the CountryMusic site at About.com for various topics. If so, you may have stopped voting when some people with advanced knowledge in autovoting would vote hundreds of thousands of times, making it virtually impossible for anyone that was manually voting to ever get their favorite artist listed on the winning poll each week.
About has fixed that problem by making it where you can only vote once per IP address, making it much more fair, and accurate. Plus, now the polls won't crash all the time.
If you'd like to vote for Vince Gill for the category that he's nominated for, please visit:
http://countrymusic.about.com/library/blcma2006poll.htm
Choose your category and cast your vote.
You can vote in each poll once, but your votes will not be added if you just refresh the page over and over. I also believe that if you are using a dialup connection, when you login each time you have a different IP address, so you may be able to vote each time you logged on. Check the total before voting again and see if it does register another vote. If this doesn't work, let me know and I'll take this info off this page. Don't pay attention to the note at the top of the poll results page saying you already voted. It automatically says that, even if you haven't voted at all.
The winning artists/songs/albums will be announced when Shel posts the recap after the Awards show has been broadcast, and you'll be able to find the actual winning artists as well as the fan-voted favorites.
We are trying to spread the word to as many different groups of fans as possible so that we'll have an accurate tally of how the fans feel, rather than just the fans that happen to show up to vote. So, please pass on the URL to other (insert name of artist) fans so that they can vote too.
Votes will be registered until around 3pm PT on November 6th. At that time, Shel will tally the votes and you can check to see who the fans voted for.
