[size=5]Tonight's show was spectacular. All of the show was very well done and Vince was so good. Hope you all got to see it, or will have a chance on a rerun.
Vince spend a lot of time sitting down so I am assuming his back is still hurting. Does anyone know how it hurt it? Golf, perhaps.
Where is Amy's daughter, Millie going to college?
Great tribute to Don Helms.

I thought Vince was GREAT tonight! Loved it! I also thought Dawn Sears did a fantastic job singing "Walking After Midnight" with him!
I am glad I taped it so I can watch it over and over again!

Here's a message from Val: She could email me, but couldn't access the fan club site on the motel's computer, so here is what she had to say about tonight:
"Sure hope ya'll watched the Opry tonight. The reason GAC moved it to 8pm is because the Opry shaved a 1/2 hour off it's show...the show is now only 2 hours long compared to the previous 2 1/2 hours...it starts at 7pm and goes to 9pm. If you watched the Opry tonight, I'm sure you guys saw Vince limping as he was coming out after the first commercial break...well, I hate to say it, but that was NOTHING compared to the way he limped OFF the stage after he got done singing before the commercial! Somebody actually came over to him after he turned around and was going off to the side to make sure he was ok because he was limping sooooo bad! It looked like he could hardly put any weight on that leg after he finished his first song...that's the reason he sat most of the rest of the time he was onstage. Anyways, besides for the bad knee problem (which, IMO, he needs to get taken care of ASAP), he looked and sounded wonderful! When they came back from commercial the first time and everybody hollered, he just rolled his eyes...
When the show started, I had a total of 266 pictures left on my memory card...by the time Vine got offstage, I had 49 left....and I would have to say that at least 75-80% of the pictures are of Vince...*L* Will share when I get back home...some came out blurry, one was actually nothing...I must have accidently hit the shutter button and gotten the audience or something...that will go into the TRASH...I got some of Melissa Lawson and everyone else who was on all the shows, but a good portion of the pics are of Vince. Oh, and for those of you who were listening to the whole show on the radio and heard the impersonator Johnny Counterfiet, well, when he said he was going to do an impression of what it would sound like if Vince & Johnny Cash were to sing together, Vince came out and was standing right beside the announcers desk on the left side of the stage (which is the side our seats were on, but a little closer to center)...I really don't think there were too many people who noticed Vince was over there watching, they were all focused on the impersonator...I did get some pics of Vince out there, but they're dark, since there was no light, but I'll try to see what I can do with them. I also got some when he was in the wings waiting to come back out after someone's (I think it was Melissa)set...there was a little bit of light where he was standing at that time, so they shouldn't be too bad of pics. And of course at the end, Vince was the only one to get a standing ovation...come to think of it, that was the end of the show...but I don't think it being the end of the show had anything to do with it...Vince just gets a standing ovation whenever he's on anyways...
And remember I said that when we went by Vince's house there were a lot of cars there...well, Don Hensley's (?) funeral was Thursday, so I wonder if what was going on yesterday at the house had something to do with the funeral but was a day later...

Thanks, Val, (and Bestamaw for posting it) for the wonderful review! Wow, you are lucky to have been at such a great show! I loved watching it all last night and have watched it again today. My favorite song was "Walking After Midnight." Loved, loved, loved it! Makes me REALLY anxious to see Vince live!

After all, it has been 5 years since I have gotten to see him live!
I am so glad he is doing this tour and I will be able to see him live, once again!
I will look forward to seeing some of your pictures!

Is "Walking After Midnight" the only song Vince sang or did he do more either by himself of with others?

Our family was driving north thru Nashville on Sat about 6:30 pm and I swear I saw Vince and Amy driving north on I-65 and then I saw the billboard saying that he was at the Opry that nite....too bad we had to keep on going and coundn't stop....I am pretty sure they would not have let our traveling Great Dane in the auditorium. Glad to hear it was an awesome show....it is sad to hear his back is still bothering him...senidng well wishes his way...
We ended up in Cleveland Ohio and I am hanging out with my cousins. Last night we had a fantastic party and told funny stories and drank wine and ate fried chicken...today it is off to my cousin's farm to do chores and then tonight to the Lorain County fair to see Vince sing. I'm taking my cousin's family to see him and I get to go backstage and meet him....I could not ask for a better end to a vacation..which was a week of swimming in the gulf eating lots of raw oysters and cooking shrimp.
I'll post in a day or so about the concert tonite...

He also sang 'Your Cheatin' Heart'. A slow version of 'What the Cowgirls Do' which I believe didn't make the televised show, and he sang bgvs and played the mandolin for Guy Clark.

Vince also did "What the Cowgirls Do" while GAC was on commercial break before Guy Clark came out, so unless you were listening to the radio (or were there), you would have missed that song.
