Just wanted to share a bit about the "Surprise" 50th Birthday party we threw for Bill. I started planning this about 4 months ago, hired my new DIL to do the catering (we helped her too) and invited about 85 people (all hush hush).

We had about 60 people show up, including the person who introduced Bill and I and one of the guys who was in our wedding. Bill was very surprised - had no idea about the party. I told him I was taking HIM out to dinner the night before his birthday as he was working nights on his actual birth day. He had a wonderful time, lots of friends, family, coworkers, and fun.

I was totally off the computer for the entire weekend (hence, missing one of the birthdays. It was so much fun planning and executing the party, but I tell you, keeping it a secret was the hardest thing I ever did. I almost told him about 5 or 6 times.

My DIL had such a great time catering and planning that she's helping me plan out Christmas Party this year - we're expanding to include some of the rest of our family. I always play Vince and Amy's Christmas albums to make sure everybody hears "them" during the Holidays. LOL

Yes, he really was Beka! He had no idea! He thought we were going to a fancy restaurant in downtown Charleston. Believe me, I had to ask God to forgive me a lot those last few months for lying so much. I wasn't crazy about doing that, but I couldn't tell him the truth.

I bet your Mom had a blast. I loved the picture of you, Maegan, and your Mom. You all 3 look alike. LOL

I can just imagine how hard it was to keep that a secret for so long!!! It was hard enough to keep my Mother's 70th birthday party a surprise from her and we don't live under the same roof...LOL!!!

Ha, Mother looks like a Farmer in that picture!!! She found that hat on sale at one of the gas stations on the way over to Atlanta..I had to go thru 3 shelves worth of hats to find one the right size!!! We laughed alot that day...Mother says we built some special memories...and she's right!!!
