Vince was fabulous as always! This type of show is amazing because it gets the audience involved - there is no set list - you yell out what you want Vince to do and he does it - and superbly!! He looked so handsome in black pants, black shirt and white vest - wow!!!! He did some really old songs - Victim of Life's Circumstances, some from early - When I Call Your Name, Whenever You Come Around, some for his family - Key of Life and Go Rest High, some funny ones - Lips and a new one Lucky Diamond Motel, some really meaningful ones - new one Forever Changed(and added a little note about his own experience with abuse in the 7th grade from a teacher - he said he was smart enough to run but some kids aren't- sure didn't know he had firsthand experience), some from These Days - Rhythm of the Rain, What You Give Away. He also talked alot about how the songs came about and had some funny stories too. He played for about 1 1/2 hrs and then took a 20 minute break and then played for about another 1 1/2 hrs. After the show at the meet and greet he said this was new to him but he liked the idea because you weren't competing with a band playng and singing. He did some really LOOONG guitar licks on some of the songs and he was stupendous! That was great to witness. He loved the Lord of the Strings t-shirt I gave him - said he loves those guitar shirts and he probably has most of the guitars pictured. He was gracious and friendly as always even though he was in pain from his knee. He sat the whole time on stage and also at the meet and greet. He did mention he was going for surgery in a few weeks and then joked it was brain surgery and they would open him up and say there was nothing in there and give up. Just looking at the schedule I would guess it would be in October cause he has about 3 weeks off then. He said Corrina started the 2nd grade on the 18th and Jenny is 26 and has a job. It was a really different setting to see him doing the show alone basically but I really liked the change. Hope all of you who are attending the rest of the shows will be as pleased.

That sounds like such a great show. It was been at least three years since I have seen him. I so wish he was coming to Michigan or close enough miles for me to go. Thought maybe the Christmas show would come back to Grand Rapids but have not seen where it is.
Thanks so much for the review as that sounds like the type of concert that I sure would enjoy. Like it when Vince interacts with the audience as he is so good at it.
Just have to wait and see when he might come but in the meantime, please keep those reviews coming.

Nina you are so LUCKY! I so appreciate you telling us about it. I absolutely love to hear about the stories behind the songs, it sheds so much light on the meaning, and I enjoy them so much more.
