Full Version: Bakersfield Concert
The Nineteenth Hole > The Nineteenth Hole > The Main Room

Last night I managed to watch one of the best performers working today.
Vince and his small band, drummer keyboard and upright base player were in Bakersfield, CA at the Fox Thearter.

He came out wearing a Chet T shirt under his jacket. (Chet Atkins).

Vince played for about 2 hours with a little intermission half way through the performance. This was my first Vince Gill concert but it will not be my last. I have seen many performers in my life. This is one great show.

There was no set list. The venue was so small he asked for songs from the audience to play. His guitar playing was spot on. It blended in the background of the voice. but it rocked on in front for a couple of his rocking numbers.

The stories between the songs were as much fun as the music was. He reminded me of John Pizzarelli the way he is comfortable talking and telling stories. If you get a chance to listen to John, go for it, Jazz guitar.

I am tempted to follow Vince around central California to catch all his shows while he is on the West Coast.

Thanks Vince!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for becoming another convert. If I could I would go to all of his concerts. He is a master.
