Now that the "regular" season has come to a close and the "summer season" starts this weekend, what shows are you looking forward to watching? I'm not talking about catching reruns of series that you missed, but shows that have their "run" in the summer and early Fall.
I'm really looking forward to the return of "The 4400" and "Monk"( though Monk does a split season, so the wait isn't quite as long .

I haven't heard of any new shows that I want to catch...I will be missing all my favorite shows over the summer.

I'm not sure either on what I want to watch...
But what surprised me, I really took to Ghost Whisperer...I liked that show...Then I really liked Deal or No deal....
I'm trying so hard NOT to watch Canadian Idol....lol.....

The summer shows that we like to watch most are 'Monk', 'The Dead Zone' and 'The 4400'...so I'm looking forward to those...
Speaking of tv viewing, Valerie mentioned that NBC has changed up some of their fall schedule after all the other networks have made their schedule..shows like Crossing Jordan will be returning in the fall and on another night (instead of in January, like we thought)..I also think they changed the nights that Deal or No Deal will be airing and the night the Medium will be on...if I'm not mistaken, they have bumped 'My Name Is Earl' from 7:30pm to 8pm CST, but on the same night...if there are shows that you like to watch on NBC, you might want to check out their website...just check the show and see if they have moved them to another day and time...I usually keep all the shows we like to watch on a spreadsheet..I had it all worked out and then NBC went and changed a bunch of them...so, had to re-work several days of the fall schedule...

Hey, Becky, so nice to talk to you again. Medium was bumped to a 'mid season' replacement...totally ridiculous since it's such a hit. Grey's is going up against CSI and my "Invasion" was cancelled....boo hoo!!!! They've made some scheduling messes for sure and as usual I will have about 100 VCR's going at once *L*.
As far as summer shows go, Mary Anne, I'm usually into tons of Philly baseball games and trying to catch up on movies I taped through the winter. I absolutely love Monk and will sit and laugh out loud when he's on, what a funny, funny show that one is. And I eagerly await the 2nd part of Battlestar Gallactica, that's split like Monk. I wish I would have gotten into "4400" as I am such a sci-fi nut!!! I used to cook dinner to Star Trek.....a hundred years ago *LOL*.

Oh Trish, I totally forgot about Battlestar Gallactica..LOL!!! Bruce & I are totally hooked on that show!!! I'm definately with you on Invasion..can you believe they left us hanging like that??? That was awful...I'm still upset about Everwood not being renewed, but they are doing 13 more episodes of 7th Heaven (a show that just had it's series finale after 10 LONG, but good years...let it go people!!!)...looks like Medium, The Dead Zone and Without A Trace will all be on at the same time..tho luckily, you can see The Dead Zone again throughout the week...(thanks to USA re-airing shows like that & Monk)..I always record the later showings of the USA shows so that I can use the regular air time for the other shows...I still miss having a 'Star Trek' show on tv...I really miss it like crazy and although I like Battlestar Galactica, it's not a fitting replacement for a Star Trek show, in my opinion...
So Trish, which Star Trek show was your favorite??? I love thinking back thru all of the different Star Trek shows...the original show was not favorite...

Wow, Becky, I didn't know anyone else watched Battlestar Gallactica...now that's cool. Of course I loved the first one, too.....the OLD, OLD one *L*. I can't say which episode was my favorite and I saw some of them 100's of times it seems, but it was the original series that hooked me. And who would have ever thought that Capt. Kirk would become a funny lawyer after he retired *LOL*?????

Yep! And Invasion was just getting really good, too! When it first started, we were kinda like 'ok, do we *really* want to watch this show or not?' but then it started getting better and better and we were on the edge of our seats.
I guess we'll be watching Big Brother, America's Got Talent and I don't know what else, yet. Since we don't have cable, our choices are pretty limited.

Trish,
I really do not l ike science fiction, but I really got hooked on "The 4400"- you should try to watch it this summer- they do a pretty good "recap" so you can get into it quickly. I'd have to say the only other sci-fi show that I liked was "Quantom Leap".
I also love "Monk" and started getting into the "Dead Zone" last year.(though that is also kind of sci-fi too isn't it?)

Yes, The Dead Zone is about a guy who has an accident, is in a coma for years..he wakes up to find his wife has married again and his son who is oh about 7 or 8 years old now, thinks that the wife's new husband is his father (in the last few seasons, they told the son who his real father is), but anyway, since he has come out of his coma, he can see the future when he touches people or certain things...he works with the local sheriff, who just happens to be who his wife married...and somehow, they seem to get along...he helps to solve crimes and keep things from happening that might otherwise happen in the future..it's a very interesting concept for a show...I don't personally believe that this could happen in real life, but it makes for interesting television..Johnny Smith, played by Anthony Michael Hall, is a wonderful actor...we've been watching this show for quite a long time..can't say that we watched it since it started, but we did go back and watch the first season as well as a movie that was based on the same characters...I think this might all be based on a Stephen King novel..may have to check that out, for sure...here is what the USA Network says about the character of Johnny Smith:
Johnny Smith (Anthony Michael Hall) once led the idyllic small-town life: working as a high school science teacher, a job which he loved; newly-engaged to a loving fianc¿e named Sarah Bracknell, a fellow teacher he'd known since childhood; and was a good son to his widowed mother. Johnny's life was nearly perfect... until the day a near-fatal car crash left him in a deep coma for six years. It's been three years since Johnny regained consciousness and discovered that the life he once knew has completely changed forever. His mother has long since passed, Sarah has married someone else - and he has a son he's just now getting to know. Even Johnny is not the same person he once was: since his coma, he possesses amazing psychic powers that allow him to see into the past and future through visions triggered by touch. Johnny continues to struggle to find his place in the world while also trying to cope with the knowledge that comes to him though his visions - visions that are both a blessing and a curse.
Visit the USA Network website for more info on all the characters...this show is definitely worth watching...we love it...

WOW, Dead Zone and 4400 sound like I can pick up on it even now. I taped the original 4400, but never ended up watching the tape and erased it. If you honestly think it's something I can relate to without having seen the first seasons, then I'm in!!! Now I know enough about Dead Zone to start watching that, too. Thinking about the husband working together with the new husband kind of reminds me of the "ex's" working together on Invasion.....still another boo hoo for that one.

Ok, I must live in a cave. I've never heard of Dead Zone or 4400, but they sound really interesting. I'm going to have to look them up. I haven't even turned the TV on since the last 24 of the season was shown!

Pam, they are on the USA Network, along with Monk...they are summer shows...something NEW to watch....YEAH!!! I believe that both are on Sunday nights on USA...they show here at 8pm and 9pm CST...don't know what time that would be over there in California-land...LOL!!! You can check out the shows by going to your brower and just typing USA Network and it should bring up their webpage, then you can check out what both of the shows are all about...read up on the characters and you'll be ready to start watching with the new season...the first 'The 4400' show airs on 6/11 and 'The Dead Zone' starts on 6/18...both shows are definitely worth watching...
Trish, I'm still upset about 'Invasion' too...they should at least give us one more episode to help wrap things up...having the last scene there where the sheriff had Larken and was down in the water...man there is not telling what what's his name (Larken's husband) was going to do to him...maybe we should all write the network and tell them to at least give the show a proper ending...

Yep Trish...guess we'll never know now, will we??? They could at least do a 2 hour movie to let us know what happened, right???
