My understanding is that the person receiving the star has to be nominated and agree to it- I think there is also a substantial fee involved that the nominated has to pay.

I saw in Country Weekly that Leanne Rimes, Tim McGraw, Shania Twain and Crystal Gayle are all getting stars this year. I am going to look into how we can get Vince nominated.

OK...so basically Vince has to be nominated by a "sponsor" (hopefully his management company or record label) and either the sponsor or the nominee have to agree to pay $15 000 which gets donated to a charity.I have contacted someone at Vince's management company to see if there is anything in the works for getting Vince a star and to ask if there is anything we ...the fans can do to help out in the process. I will let you all know if and when I hear something back.
I would really think that Vince would be a shoe in for this honor for all that he does not only for the music industry but for the community as well.

I think Vince will have his own star someday.

Thanks, Leah, for doing that. Glad you know who to contact. $15,000 sounds like alot of money but when you think of all the publicity that you get with it, it is definitely a good way to get Vince's name and what he has done out there.

No problem...i do hope to hear back about it. I would think that the sponsor would either be the management company or the record label. After all Vince would have made them ALOT of money over the years so I am sure that the sponsor fee wouldn't be that big of a deal to them. I am not positive but I would think that Amy's management company would have been her sponsor since they were all there and mentioned in the ceramoney. What an honor this star would be to Vince and his family...I would also love to see him put beside amy.

I am sure you will hear back from someone at Vince's management. He certainly deserves a star!!!

I think I read that they nominate 15 or 17 people a year. I know that from teh Country Music Genre alone 5 people were nominated for stars this year.

I've read that they usually have about 2 or 3 ceremonies a month, on average...I know there have been quite a few new stars added since we were there 6 years ago!!! I think that Amy got the 2,318th star...something like that!!! Let's hope that Vince won't be too far behind her in getting a his own star!!!
