Does anyone ever hear Vince on the radio? Here in Denver he gets no airtime. Yesterday, I called the radio station that is "bringing Vince to Denver" in November, KYGO, and requested the DJ to play "Reason Why" and the guy said that he had never heard of it!!!! (I've been calling and requesting it since it came out and they tell me "ok" now the guy says he has never heard of it?) He didn't know about the concert!! I sort of went off on the guy. I asked him how they expect to sell tickets to a concert they are sponsoring if the listeners can't hear the music! mad.gif I also told the Dj that it had been explained to me that there is only so much airtime available and Vince Gill is just not that popular. Well, then why are they sponsoring his upcoming concert! I loudly told the guy that I had switched to another station, KWLI --WILLIE--because they do play Vince's songs ( but usually they are his older songs).

I can't tell you how offended I was the last time Vince was here and the KYGO DJ made the introduction at the concert, all happy and smiling and backslapping; when I have been told by him on the phone that basically Vince is a has been and no one else calls to request his songs!!! mad.gif

So, if you are in the Denver Metro area please start calling in requests to the radio stations or this may be Vince's last radio sponsored concert here. They need to know that Vince's fans are out there listening.

I've been hearing Vince's new single in Charleston, but not as much as I'd like to.

KYGO is "bringing" Vince Gill to Denver? That's laughable. tongue.gif Anyway, you are right, I really cannot remember the last time I heard Vince played on that station. No worries, this is exactly why I have XM Radio! The radio stations as a whole in Colorado aren't that good at all, and if want to hear classic country or any thing other then the "flavor of the day" you are out of luck.

On the other hand, really consider how many headlining country music concerts actually make a stop in Denver at all. Most singers/groups that make a stop are of the up and coming variety or one that actually isn't that popular...and instead of the Pepsi Center, Coors Amp, or Red Rocks you are crammed into the Grizzley Rose.

This summer was the most memorable year for country music shows at the bigger venues in Denver in quite a while...Tim/Faith, Rascal Flatts, AJ, Toby Keith just the other night to name a few and Brad Paisley is playing C Springs in November...you get the point.

Anyway...as far as Vince not being "popular" anymore? Look around this board, you could have fooled me. cool.gif
