Carrie,

CW is too focused on "the next big thing" these days and they ignore practically everyone else unless it's Alan or George Strait.
JBC
Country Weekly is like everybody else. They all want to appeal to the young audience. I've been disgusted with them for a while. Unless it's George, Alan, Reba or Dolly. Those are the only older performers that they seem to care about.

As far as I am concerned , Country Weekly is a joke !

It is a joke..I don't even look at it anymore..I let my subscription run out last year..It's all the same people week after week....

I totally agree and I also let my subscription expire several months back. Boring boring boring! Plus - there no real 'news'... just articles about so & so's bus, what they like to take on their tour bus, what they like to eat, so & so's favorite recipes... etc. etc. Boring!

Well, I enjoyed the story on Blake Shelton in this week's issue. Speaking of CW and subscriptions, CW is going back to weekly issues, but it's going to be newsstand only, no more subscriptions. IMO, it seems like the owners are trying to 'kill' the magazine because they'll be losing their subscribers and not everyone will buy the magazine every week. I've already heard from a few people who have subscriptions because they either can't find current issues at their local stores or they can't get to the store every week to pick up the latest issue. If stores don't carry it, and they do away with subscriptions, it will literally kill the magazine. Hopefully People Country will become a regular magazine and take up the slack if CW closes.

I just don't understand why they won't feature Vince. They won't play him on the radio around here either. I call the radio stations and request a Vince Gill song and they say they have to talk to the station manager. What's up with that? It makes me so angry.Nobody can sing like Vince can. His voice is that of an angel. Just have to listen to my cd's. Your Vince buddy, xtalmae.(Crystal)

You can also listen to different radio stations on the internet. Last Wed. I had to go out and when I got in the car, you guys would probably never guess what song was playing on the radio, because you probably haven't heard it on the radio since the mid 1980s...they were playing Let Me Love You Tonight! If anyone is interested in listening the my radio station online, the site is Waco100.com. Starting at noon CT, they do an hour of country classics...and I'm not talking classics like some radio stations consider classics as being anything pre-2000...I'm talking George Jones, Charley Pride, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, etc...music from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.
