First of all...I got to meet Becky and Bruce....(it was great to meet you both!!!) That was fun to meet some people from the fan club!! My husband and I came from California to see this show and let me tell you....it was worth it and then some!! Like Becky said in another post....it was just Vince and and some of his many guitars (one being one that belonged to Chet Atkins!). My husband and I were in the 5th row center!! The Ford Theatre is awesome and Vince sounded just perfect singing in there....you can tell he feels at home there! He of course made me laugh....he told stories, jokes and let us ask questions!! I was really excited because I yelled out to him and asked his favorite song!! He responded by saying he would sing it for me!! He sang Rodney Crowell's song, "Until I Gain Control Again"!! He said he also liked Old Shep because his dad used to sing it to him and it used to make him cry!!! It was neat for him to have some audience interaction!! He sang a lot of father inspired songs like Becky stated in her post! Vince and Guy clark together was also a treat. I love that when Guy Clark took the stage his first sentence was, "I think the world is a better place because Vince Gill is in it!" Personally, I agree with my whole heart!! I loved watching Vince watch Guy Clark, you could tell how much reverence Vince has for him!!
Vince also sang "Sweet Thing", and "What You Give Away" along with the other songs Becky had mentioned!!
After the show thanks to Becky and Bruce I was able to have an impromtu encounter with Vince!! He was sweet as usual and signed my Hatch Show print for me!! I was soooo excited!! Vince is always so kind to everyone he meets I am forever grateful!!! My night was perfect! The show was fantastic! Again this just goes to prove what we all already know....Vince is a treasure....he is sooooo talented, humble, and kind! You can't say that about many artists "These Days"!!! Thank you Vince for a wonderful evening....and memories I will cherish forever! Thank you Becky and Bruce for your kindness!!! AND....thank you to everyone who is still reading this VERY long post...ha ha ha!!!
