Grand Ole Opry Week on American Idol

America's top-rated television show is about to join forces for a week with the "Show That Made Country Music Famous"! American Idol will feature a Grand Ole Opry theme on March 17 & 18, as contestants will select and perform songs popularized by Opry members!

In addition, Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis will sing together on Randy's classic hit and Carrie's current single, "I Told You So," plus Brad Paisley will make the television debut of his new single, "Then," from his forthcoming summer album.

Well, no one chose to do any of Vince's songs for GOO week, but we did get a couple Garth songs, a couple Martina songs, a couple of Carrie songs, a Willie song, a Patty song and the WEIRDEST version of Ring of Fire that I've EVER heard!! So what did everyone else think of tonight's peformances?

I was disappointed in Adam's 'disrespect' for country music.

I did enjoy the country night and surprised that most did a good job of singing country. It was good to see Randy Travis again and to hear what he had to say about each singer. Yes, I could hardly wait for Adam to get through with his song. Not sure just who will get voted off as I havent any ideas. Just hope that the one from Michigan can at least make the top 10 so he can tour.
It is fun to watch.

Oh, I think Adam has enough talent to win the whole thing. He was my favorite from the beginning. I was just so disappointed in him last night. WOW - he ruined a beautiful song.

Just about anyone could win this thing at this point, with the exception of maybe Megan and Michael. Michael doesn't live too far from me, and I would love to see that hard-working Texas boy at least make it in the top 10. Don't think he will though. sad.gif

Don't know how accurate these predictions are, but according to DialIdol, Michael is safe this week. According to DialIdol, Alexis, Alison and Megan are in danger of going home. http://www.dialidol.com/asp/predictions/predictions.asp

After tonight's show you have the Top 10, so it's very possible Michael could make it to the Top 10, especially since DialIdol is listing him as safe.

I also think Adam could win the whole thing. I thought he did an excellent job last week with the Michael Jackson song, just hated what he did to Ring of Fire.
