Hello to my fellow members, I hope you are happy and in good health.
I would like to day to discuss the idea or even have a debate about the possibility of Vince doing a duets album some time in the future after all Vince has in the past performed some of the very best duets to have ever come out of Nashville or beyond.
I suggest we start by everybody coming up with say around a dozen artists we would like to see Vince duet with whether for the first time or somebody he has performed with in the past, there are no restrictions other forms of music besides Country and male performers can also be selected if you so wish.
Also, it would be interesting to add why you have chosen this particular artist when making your list and hopefully Vince and MCA will take heed of our messages!.
My dozen selections are below-
1) Sara Evans- Classic Country voice
2) Alison Krauss- super talented and a voice of an angel
3) Dwight Yoakam- Can you not see them cutting loose on some Buck Owens Classic and they have the same agent!
4) Trisha Yearwood- Pure class
5) Raul Malo- Like Dean and Frank?
6) Emmy Lou Harris- Why has it not happened yet?
7) Mandy Barnett- Incredible voice
8) Lee Ann Womack- classic country duet in waiting
9) Jimmy Lafave- Who? fantastic singer/guitarist, this would be roadhouse rock heaven
10)Bekka Bramlett- Fiery voice
11)Martina McBride- It would have been nice to see a duet on her Timeless album, here she gets the chance
12)Michael Buble- Countrys top vocalist meets Jazz"s top vocalist, no quarter given
Have you any ideas or thoughts, please let me know.
All the best

Hi Mike,
I have often wished that Vince would put out a duet of cd's past, present or new ones. These would be my picks:
Ricky Skaggs-both have beautiful voices, and sound great together
Sara Evans-love their duet "No Place That Far", anything they did with music would sound wonderful
Kris Kristofferson-just because I love them both, and their voices are so very different
Dierks Bentley-he is a wonderful new talent, and it would be awesome
Martina McBride-just a wonderful blend of beautiful strong voices
Keith Urban-how great would that guitar playing be????
Dwight Yoakum-pretty much the same reason you would like to hear it. They could have a lot of fun with
the Buck Owens classics
Taylor Hicks (the new American Idol) He reminds me of Vince, he always seems happy, and just loves to perform. I think they would produce some very memorable music
Trisha Yearwood-they both have such clear, beautiful voices that blend very well
Buddy Jewell-very mellow sound
Jennifer Nettles (Sugarland)-With her southern twang and powerful voice, it would sound great
Jenny Gill-Something soulful, a ballad
I know Vince has done duets with some of these people in the past, but I would love to hear more.

I didn't have much time to think of lots but this is what came to my mind...
I agree with Marylou.....
I would love to see Keith Urban & Vince do a duet...(Guitar playing would be out of this world)
I always enjoyed Dolly & Vince on "I will always love you" I would love another duet with them both. Her voice dances so nicely on top of his...
Andrea Boccelli and Vince would be something to die for.....

Wow, this is a really good question...let's see...
1) Josh Groban
2) Taylor Hicks...love that idea (go Soul Patrol...I'm from Alabama!!!)
3) Vince w/Katharine McPhee would be nice too!!!
4) Sheryl Crowe
5) Sara Evans
6) Kenny Rogers (Vince sounds great on background vocals on 'You'll Know Love..but would love to see a real duet with both of them)
7) Keb Mo (loved the song that he did with Amy...so I think he & Vince would sound great too!!!)
8) Barry Manilow..this might sound strange..but I think if they picked the right song, it would sound great...
9) Alison Kraus
10) Andrea Boccelli (of course that would sound great, Mary Lou!!!)
11) Michael Buble (have to go along with this one as well!!!)
12) and lastly, how about Natalie Cole or Dione Warwick!!!
I have never heard Vince sing with someone that I didn't think that Vince's voice did not accent their voice and make them sound even better...so IMO, Vince could sing anything with anyone and it would sound great...and I would love to see him do a duets album sometime...for all the times that Vince has so freely lent his vocal talents to help others on their albums, I would love to see Vince call a few favors and do a duets album someday!!!
I bet if we keep thinking, we could keep Vince busy in the recording studio for oh, at least a decade, right..LOL!!!

Freida, I am in total agreement. Vince makes everyone sound better. He kind of explained about his hearing. He never wears the earphones because he wants to hear all the instruments and he said he thought that when anyone wears them they don't push themselves. He wasn't knocking anyone else, just he personally did not like wearing them .

Seems like years ago Vince and Patty Loveless spoke frequently of wanting to do a duets album.
I still love me some Patty Loveless!
