I think he was joking about having the swine flu- probably sick withthe reglular flu. He dounded great, even if he was sick.

Yes, Carrie Ann, I heard Vince on the Opry, and couldn't believe he was up there singing with the swine flu!! Of course, he always sounds wonderful, but I could tell a little bit of difference in his voice. I hope he's not pushing himself, and is taking the appropriate medicines. The actual swine flu is really bad stuff! GET WELL, VINCE!! We all love you, and want you healthy and feeling good!

Mary ann Don't think Vince would joke about being sick like that. He voice did sound different on opry last night like he was stop up.
Mary Anne
I said I thought he was joking about having the swine flu. If he had the swine flue he would not be at the Opry, nor would he had taken part in any of the other events he did last week- including the benefit in Omaha on Friday. He did sound sick, but like I said, most likely with the regular flue or a really bad cold, rather thatn the "swiine flu".
JBC
I agree with you, Mary Anne. The regular flu is bad enough but with swine flu he would probably have been in the hospital and not walking around infecting other people. Swine flu is way too dangerous with people dying from it. Vince really should be careful about what he jokes about. Some people don't get his humor and think he's serious.

I may be out of line saying this, but "Who cares whether he was joking or not"?. He was definitely sick so, sick is sick no matter what he has.
twostepper
Debbie, I have to agree. Whether he was diagnosed with the actual "swine" flu is irrelevant. I think a lot of people think everyone who has swine flu is deathly ill and must go to the hospital, and that isn't true. There are milder cases, just like any flu. The incubation period is 5 to 7 days, and I don't think Vince would have exposed others to it if he was contagious - swine or otherwise.

Hope he feels better what ever he has! The swine flu is now in my town! Not looking forward to getting that. Crystal

It seems like the swine flu is taking its toll mostly on children more than adults. Yes, adults do get it, but in most cases it's much more mild than when a child comes down with it.
