For more than a decade, Conroe has been home to one of the state’s most popular forums for showcasing veteran musical performers and undiscovered songwriting talent.

Vince Gill, one of the nation’s most popular singer/songwriters, is one of the featured performers in the recently announced lineup for the 2010 Sounds of Texas Music Series. The series of four concerts throughout the spring and summer kicks off this weekend at the historic Crighton Theatre.

On Saturday, the STMS kicks off with Grammy award-winner and CMA Top Vocal Group winner Rodney Crowell. He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003.
