I'm very sad & upset right now. We had to put our beloved dog Sammy to sleep last Friday. he would've been 15 yrs old in August. He was in so much pain, had congestive heart failure, couldn't stand/walk, & his sight was going. The vet said she couldn't believe he made it this long & that it was because we loved him so much that he was hanging on. He's in a better place now & will always be in our hearts.

My heart aches with yours. I lost two of my furry kids in one year and one was also 15 years old, like your Sammy. It hurts so much!! I have one girl now, a Welsh Corgi, who is going on 12, and she has congestive heart failure. I'm doing all I can for her through prescriptions, but I know the inevitable is coming. You have my deepest sympathy. With an empty nest, my animals are a huge part of my life. Sammy knew you loved him, and you gave him a great life. Cherish the wonderful memories!

So very sorry for the loss of your precious Sammy.My little Peke died from congestive heart failure 8 1/2 years ago.I miss him every day.You are right about the better place but it sure doesn't make you hurt less.

Sorry to hear about your pet, it is so hard to let them go. cause they get to be a part of you and your family. I know i had to have my blondie put to sleep she was 9yrs, old but she had cancer. so i waited a while and then i got a Jack russsell. and she is a sweetie I call her Maggie. i fel for you.
