Vince Gill hit the stage Saturday night to a thunder of applause from nearly 5,000 fans, with more pouring in even as the opening number rolled across the Arboretum meadow.

Threatening clouds and warnings of potential thunderstorms failed to show. Skies cleared late in the afternoon, and by the second number, a Carolina blue sky looked down over sunset-gilded puffy clouds on a sea of happy fans. more!
