Vince Gill held his fan club party this morning at the historic Belcourt Theatre in Nashville during the CMA Music Festival. Wearing a black t-shirt that simply said “CHET” (in honor of one of his guitar heroes, Chet Atkins), he provided fans with breakfast and answered fan questions for more than two hours.

Vince shared personal stories about visiting his grandparents in nursing homes and learning to drive, talked golf, reflected on his decades-long career and discussed the state of the music industry with the neutrality of someone who’s spent a lot of years in the business. But when a fan asked if Vince had a favorite guitar, he and many in the theatre became emotional.

i watched online and i loved every Bit of it it was wonderful i Had tears coming down my eyes when Vince talked about the Father daughter dance

OMG, that baby was so excited!

I hope no one got mad that she took up a little of 'Vince time'. On her card, she wrote to ask him if he would sing that song with her. He didn't know it, and she sang it alone. She is still bubbling about it.

Yep, that was my baby. People were stopping her in the convention center asking for her autograph. SHE WAS SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

She was adorable, Cathy! You said she's 7? My oldest niece will be 8 in October, although I don't know if she's into Miley much...I know she loves Sugarland's "All I Want to Do"...she loves to sing along to that song.

The fc party was so special and such a privilege to be there. Many thanks to those involved in organising it.

I felt privileged to be there. Guys - we spent a lot of time with Mr. Vince Gill, and it was just incredible. I love his spirit!

It was neat watching Vince watching her sing.
It was just so refreshing to hear Vince speak with such candour on all the subjects he was asked about, but very hard to watch him when he was trying not to cry, wanted so badly to hug him.

I fought tears the entire time. WOW - such emotions running that day!!!!!!! I just felt so special the way Vince all made us feel. We were his 'friends' on Saturday. Just incredible. The man is just so sweet!

Where are ya'll posting your party pictures? I was kind of in the back of the room with a not-so-good zoom, and I want to see some GOOD pictures and maybe order some of yours if you don't mind. I don't have still photos of Little Amber on stage with Vince. I'm depending on my friends here to come through! LOL

Cathy, pictures are starting to appear on everyones facebook pages. You should join so you can see them! I just got home last night, so I haven't posted anything yet.

I've never done the facebook thing! I'm kind of like Vince on that one!!! haha

Cathy........my daughter Mandy has three or four pictures of your grand-daughter with Vince. She put some of her party pictures on Facebook but didn't include the ones of your cutie because she likes to ask permission first with children. Since you don't do Facebook, we can e-mail them to you or make copies of them and mail them to you. Will just need your e-mail address or mailing address. Mandy was sitting in the second row slightly to the left so the pics are good......no microphone in your granddaughter's face.

Sorry we didn't get to meet at the party. Wish there hadn't been a time limit.......wonder just how long Vince would have chatted with the crowd?? He's a remarkable person........in a class all by himself.

Thank you so much about the 'permission' issue. I don't see a problem with it, and I don't think my daughter and S-i-L does either.

Hi Folk's, I caught most of it while at work and it never ceases to amaze how Vince is always a gentleman to the fullest.
I have followed his career right from Pure Prairie League days, his talent constantly grows by leaps and bounds and he has remained one of the nicest people ever.

Sounds like everybody had a blast, I saw it online, but it sure wasn't like being there. I really need a Vince fix bad. I know he's been to SC and close the last couple of years, but just wasn't able to make it to the shows.

Me too Cathy . Vince is such an amazing human being.I just love him . But anyone who knows me knows that . .And your grand daughter was so sweet.

Vince is definitely fun to be around. He just makes you feel 'peace'. I just adore him.

It certainly was a special day! I loved getting to see all of you again. Just wished we had had more time to chat with everyone. Bruce & I wound up staying at the theater for another couple of hours waiting on the police to come write up that accident that occurred out there while we were standing outside. The theater folks were really nice and let us stand inside the lobby to wait on the police to get there. We never did find out who the car belonged to.

Cathy, I did get to speak to Amber outside of the theater after the party. I told her she did a super job singing!

OMG - Becky, Bruce's pictures are absolutely awesome!!!!!!!!!!! I enjoyed looking through the gallery! WOW!!! Of course, you know there are some on there that REALLY touch my heart!!!!! LOL

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back on here. We were on vacation in Newfoundland for 2 weeks shortly after returning from Nashville and the time has just flown by with the boys being off for summer break.
I had a great time a the party....it was like sitting in your living room listening to Vince tell some great stories and sing a few songs. It was so great to see old friends and like becky I wish we just could have had more time together to catch up. Cathy your granddaughter was just precious and Vince's expression while she was sing was precious as well. Such great memories for everyone! There is nothing like having Vince sing an acoustic set....it brings me to tears everytime...

I love those acoustic sets as well. My dad did that every evening on our front porch when I was a kid. I LOVED IT, AND I MISS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dream is for Vince to one day hear Amber's older sister, Emily (10) sing. She sings beautifully!!! She was singing AMERICAN HONEY the other day while she was floating in the pool, and OMG ------- it was beautiful!!! She also sang JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL at my 60th b-day party, and brought tears to people's eyes. I would just LOVE for Vince to one day hear her as well!

Amber is learning guitar (already plays piano), and she is getting pretty good at it. Em plays piano and sings. My dad passed away MANY years ago, and I can just see him smiling from heaven when these two kids crank up their talents for people. I KNOW I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh you guys, I can't imagine how wonderful and special and FUN it must've been to be at Vince's fan club party. I am soooo envious but happy for you all. One of these years... one of these years... it'll work out that Don and I can make the trek across country to the party. One of our biggest wishes is to make it to Nashville period! But the VG Fan Club Party? - that would be the best ever!! Love hearing your stories and all the details.
