What a wonderful July experience we had last night. Our first vist ever to the beautiful Hollywood Bowl, we arrived early and just enjoyed all the sights, sounds, and learned a lot. Apparently everyone take picnics and eats at their seats, Lots of wine served with the meals and it looked so good.
We had wonderful seats and were even lucky enough to have Amy sitting in the box right next to us. She was one of the most enthusiatic fans for her man and just beamed when he told the story of the song he wrote about her smile, then he sang it........Beautiful.
First half of the performance was all the Philharmonic with assistance from the Air Force ensemble of brass instruments. Very patriotic and enjoyable. Intermission and then Vince and group came out. He was wearing a suit and tie, many songs he did were accompanied by the Philharmonic and were beautifully done. The audience really was enjoying his chatter, performance and applauded wildly.
Vince mentioned that he had once lived in SoCal and told a few stories about the traffic, his pianist John had once performed at the Bowl in the late 60's in a Battle of the Bands and had lost to the Carpenters.
The entire evening very special and followed by a wonderful fireworks display.
On the way out many conversations were overheard and all were very very positive regarding Vince and this band.
This concert was a birthday gift from my children and I thanks them for the show.
