Singer-songwriter brings his sweet tenor to country stage
Country music's Renaissance man Vince Gill closed out the inaugural Capital Hoedown at Rideau Carleton Entertainment Centre Saturday night. Singer, songwriter, crackerjack-instrumentalist, and man of many musical styles: you name it, the 53-year-old native Oklahoman does it.
Saturday night, Gill brought his varied skills to the stage. Electric guitar at hand, he blasted out of the gates with One More Last Chance, his rocking No. 1 hit from 1993.
After commenting on the superb summer evening, he delivered the classic country sound of Take Your Memory with You then switched to acoustic guitar for the cheating tune Pocket Full of Gold.
