Cool, Anna. I bet you do beautiful work, too! I have been crocheting since I was 8 years old, but just recently learned to knit. I certainly do not do State Fair ribbon quality! smile.gif It is fun to do.

I taught my 7 year old g-girl to knit, and she does pretty danged good to be so little!!!! The older one, I taught to crochet. She loves doing it. Those two are arts/skills that I'm afraid won't be passed down to the next generations. I hope all that know the skills will teach their offspring to keep it going!

I used to do latch hook and cross-stitch, but never got into knitting or crocheting. I think my mom crochets. I'm sure I could still do latch hook and cross stitch...I do still have thread and patterns for cross-stitch.

I would LOVE to know how to do any of it! I think it's so neat! My Mother taught my oldest son to do a chain stitch when he was very young, just to keep him occupied. And, it did. Turned out it was about a block long, but she had some peace and quiet while he was at her house!

Toni,If you are serious about wanting to learn there are all sorts of instruction books with pictures etc.My Mom taught me to crochet when I was 7 but I taught myself to knit .I don't do the really hard stuff mostly afghans and baby blankets, sweaters etc.
