My husband and I was fortunate enough to make the trip to Destin Fl. for Vince's Back to the Beach cocert last Sat. Mary Chapin Carpenter was the opening act, hearing her old songs was great! She played for a little over an hour. Then they had to finish setting the stage for Vince and the his band so there was an intermission. Well the.......it starting POURING DOWN RAIN!!! I mean a down pour!! My cousin and her husband were with us and she had snuck in an umberella (umberellas were not allowed) thank goodness. We had a blanket and my cousin and I had a rain jacket. We were all soaked though! Most everyone there, and it was a huge crowd, stayed even though the rain lasted about 45 minutes. People were chanting Vince's name so he would know we were hanging in for him. And, of course he didn't disappoint us! Finally he walked out on stage and the crowd went wild! He then played for about an hour and a half. The concert had to be over around 11:00 because it was on the golf course in a residential area. It was great even though Vince had to cut it short!!
My cousin and her husband had never seen him before in concert and they were quite amazed at his guitar playing talent, but have always loved his singing. Needless to say, they are huge fans now! I will be sending them a "These Days" set as part of their housewarming gift (they just moved to Ft. Walton Beach. Even with the rain everyone there seemed to have had a great time, even Vince!

Thanks for sharing your experience with us terry....it sounds like it was a great night and I am so happy that everyone stayed and cheered Vince on. There really is nothing like seeing and hearing Vince perform live...it is always a treat for anyone in attendance.

Oh Wow Mary Chapin Carpenter. Haven't seen her in many years!
