Ok, so no one knows anything about golf courses.......what do you know about things that we should do and see for our week in April?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.................There are four of us traveling together and our traveling companions are TEnnessee novices.. My husband and I have been to the Hall of Fame, OpryLand, but that is about it........We are hoping to play some golf but do not know anything about the area courses.

Hopefully Vince will be playing somewhere so we can take in a show or two. We plan on going to the GOO but will wait until closer to the arrival date to make those plans.

Restaurants, show area, anythingwill be helpful

I personally do not know anything about golf courses in Nashville but I do know when Vince is at home he plays the Station Inn Monday nights with the Time Jumpers which includes Dawn Sears who sing back up with Vince at most of his concerts .Never been there but I have heard it is a blast .You might Google for the courses in Nashville.

I would go out and check out the Little Course on Connor Lake at the Golf House of Tennessee. It is a small par 3 course but it is a really neat place to visit. There is a statue of Vince and his dad there and several photos of Vince on the wall inside the house. It is an inexpensive course and a small once but beautiful and well run. The Governors course is down the street and I am not sure if it is open to the public or just for members but it is beautiful and you might want to look into that.
Other things to do while there.....
1.Take a drive out to Franklin....there is a walking tour of downtown and it is just neat to take in the little shops and sit outside for a coffee watching the people come and go.
2. Go to the Loveless Cafe....it is full of history and the food is world famous...you never know who you will see there also
3. The pancake pantry......very famous for their food and not far at all from downtown
4. Take in a Nashville Predators hockey game if they are still playing....we went a few years ago and it was awesome. If Vince is in town he is generally at all the home games
5. Plan a trip to the Grand Ole Opry....you can order tickets now so that you get really good seats. It is always a treat taking in a show and definitely something memorable to do while in town
6. Take a tour....I have heard the Nash Trash tour is really fun and also the new duck tour looks like it would be alot of fun
7. Opryland Hotel is a neat place to visit....not sure if it has reopened but I am sure it would be by then.

That is all I can think of off the top of my head...I would check out the Sommet center (might be called the bridgestone center I think now) website and see if there are any concerts or events going on while you are there....now is a great time to buy tickets to any shows you want to attend in order to get great seats.

Have fun...I think you are visiting at the perfect time of year.

If you do go to the Station Inn be sure to get there early and prepare to stand in line, it's a very popular place, but only holds 145 people, so it fills up pretty quickly.

I second the Loveless Cafe.

I love all of your suggestions and truly appreciate you taking the time to answer my request.

I have read reviews of the Loveless Cafe and they range from wonderful to not worth the drive to eat there............we shall see how our time works out.

Will get my order for GOO tickets in tomorrow.

Just thought of it.....I have a friend who lived in Nashville for years, and retired to Florida. Interestingly, he now works part time for the golf club in his area. I'm sure he would know good courses. I'll email him, and see if he can tell me. He knows Nashville inside and out!

I've only eaten at the Loveless twice. The first time I ordered the "Southern home cooking", and it was good but it's food like I'm used to cooking at home. The second time I had one of their specialty salads, and it was delicious.......and huge! So I think it depends on your likes and dislikes, as far as the menu goes. It's just fun to look around and see all the autographed pictures of people who've eaten there. Nice ride out of town also.
