I have just received word that Linda Blackburn passed away this morning in Houston, TX. She had been through an extraordinary amount of medical troubles and procedures. I expect to receive word where her service will be and/or where any memorials or cards may be sent to the family.

Please pray the family will have peace and comfort through this grief period. She was so very loved and will be missed tremendously by those who knew and loved her.

I'm so sorry to hear of Linda's passing. We spent some great times together at VG concerts. She will truly be missed. I will certainly keep her family in my prayers.

We would like to make a donation somewhere in Linda's name. Does anyone know if she had a favorite charity?

For those of you who are wanting to know, Linda's service will be at:

Carroway Funeral Home
2704 South John Redditt Drive
Lufkin, TX 75904
Phone: 936-634-2255
Visitation is Sunday evening and services 2:00 p.m. Monday 12/06/2010.
Burial will be at Narrow Way Cemetary in Lufkin, TX.

I don't know what the protocol is for the fan club, if they send flowers, or in some way acknowledge the death of a member. I'll email them and ask. Linda was such a devoted fan of Vince's, and I do hope his music is part of her service. I was told by one of her family members she had bought tickets for herself and some of them to see Vince in San Antonio in January. So, so sad! Prayers are needed for the family.

Such sad news. I remember meeting Linda at a concert in Vegas and also at the Ryman. May she Go Rest High On That Mountain. My sympathies to her family and loved ones.

I haven't been online in days because 'tis the season', and when I read about Linda - - I cried. Linda and I have known each other for probably 12 years or so. We've met at many concerts = even won the chance to attend the taping of "Stars Over Texas" in Austin many years back. We've been to Nashville, Vegas, Houston and Beaumont concerts at the same time. She was a friend. I am just so sad. Because I hadn't been online - just yesterday I was shopping for the perfect Christmas card for her. I didn't know yet.

My grand-daughters met her a few years back, and they really liked her and she liked them. Linda was an awesome person to know.

My heart is so heavy right now. I am genuinely sad! Getting this news on the 25th anniversary date of my Dad's passing makes it even sadder.

Rest In Peace, Sweet Linda. You will be missed. Linda had tickets to see Vince in Houston at the Arena Theater in January, and I was looking forward to seeing her again. I've been praying she would be well enough to make the concert. She'll be watching from heaven. That show will be very sad to me that night - - - - VERY SAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a sad time for sure and she will be missed by many. I had the privilege of being her friend and traveling with her quite often.....if not for her I never would of had the opportunity to see and meet Vince in so many different states or travel to Nashville so many times. She was a wonderful friend and loved her dog (Max) and family more than anything in the world. She spoke of you and the good times you had. She has befriended many through Vince.....he has lost a truly dedicated fan.

Hugs to you...I know how you feel.....Prayers to all!!!

This is really sad. So many of you knew Linda so well. I can hope she is free from the suffering of her illnesses; and pray that she, all her family, and all her friends (including all you guys here) can all find peace. I hope that in spirit she can still make it to Vince's January concert in San Antonio. I hope her family can still go for her. God bless you all.
