Full Version: Vince in my hometown tonight!
The Nineteenth Hole > The Nineteenth Hole > The Main Room

Vince was here in Macon, GA tonight and performed a concert to benefit the Alzheimer's Assoc. As usual it was a great show. Vince performed for 2 hours and the crowd loved him! It has been a long time since Vince was here. Vince did say that Amy's mom's service was yesterday and he thought it only fitting that his first show after her death was for the Alzheimers Assoc since she did have dementia. He told a few of the funny stories tonight, sang and played a lot! The Allman Brothers are from here in Macon and the Allman Bors museum offered Vince the opportunity to play Dwayne Allman's guitar during tonights show...and play it he did!! He even added a little Allman Bros music in and received (and well earned) not one but three standing ovations!!!
I had a meet and greet for this show and did go back and shake Vince's hand, thanked him for tonight and told him I was from the fan club ...he took my hand, and thanked me for coming. Poor thing, he had to walk into a room of about 100 people, members of the association, and they were grabbing him left and right. So, I didn't stay around, I felt kind of bad for him with everyone trying to talk to him at once. Not very well organized, but at least I got to say hello and let him know there was someone there from the fan club.
We made our way outside and passed the buses, saw Tom standing outside so we stopped and talked to him for a while, then Billy and Jeff came up and joined us. They are all so nice, easy to talk with and sooooo funny!! It was a great night...but of course, every night with Vince is a great night!!

Happy for you to get the meet and greet. Some of those can be kind of crazy but I have never been to one that has that many people . Vince handles it very well .

Wendy and I were at the show and it was awesome. However, we had a meet and greet
pass from the fan club but Vince had to leave before we had the chance to talk to him.
There were way too many people there for him to get to everyone.

Oh my, did you drive from FL to the show? I have been to other shows where the meet and greets were like this. I think the "benefit" concerts are usually the ones because they are trying to get an opportunity for organization memebers and others. Oh, well...I was glad I at least got to speak with him for a few seconds!

Yes we came up from Florida. We came on up to the Hiawassee show. He played for
2:20 and had at least four standing ovations. We enjoyed both shows.
