Anna, I agree with you about AJ. He may not be much on storytelling like Vince is, but AJ's music speaks for itself. Not that Vince would need to tell stories, either, he could just sit there and sing and I'd be mesmerized. I'd much rather see Vince & AJ any day rather than some of these artists who put on a big show with backup dancers, and try and dance and sing themselves. If I want to see a Broadway style show, I'll go to NYC, Branson or Las Vegas. If I want to see a concert and let the music/songs speak for itself, I'll go see AJ, Vince and several others who don't put on the big productions, they just give it their all with the songs and their voices. Other than Vince & AJ, some of my favorite concerts have been Neal McCoy, Pam Tillis and several others...Neal McCoy puts on a great show...he tells stories, he does dance around and you may even see him climb the rafters at times *L* He's very entertaining and like I said, I LOVE to see him in concert, but I also LOVE Vince & AJs shows...all 3 of them have different styles of shows, but all 3 are entertaining in their own right. Of course we all know I'll go see Vince ANY chance I get, but I also won't pass up the opportunity to see AJ or Neal or several others in concert.
Valerie,I saw Neal for free at a little country bar in Phoenix many years ago.He had his long hair.It was a great concert.
Here's a story about Neal and it shows me what kind of person he is .I lived in Anderson,Indiana for 25 years .Some time after I moved to Az. There was an article in the newspaper about a woman who was very ill and her birthday was coming up so her family and friends planned to take her to a place called the Red Brick Inn just on the out skirts of Anderson.Neal was playing a show in Indianapolis (about 45 miles or so from Anderson) He was this woman's favorite singer .Someone got to Neal and told him about her and he showed up at the party .Speaks volumes .
