A very good couple friends just learned that he has a spot on his lung.
He already has that lukemia that you can live with for a long time, you just have to make sure of your blood count and take the medication . They lived in Arizona in the Winter for a few years and then retired and he found that he had the lukemia. They sold their home here and moved back to be near family.
It could possibly be Valley fever. It's said that if you live in this Valley you will get it but you may never know it. If he had a light case or had it at all there could be scarring.
Just remember them in your prayers. Thanks much

Anna, I will also add your friend to my Prayer list. I am so sorry to hear this.
It would be nice if we could have a thread here just for Prayers needed. On a board I also visit, just run by a friend I have met, she started one on there that is pinned. That way we have a place to go and ask for Prayers needed.
Also my husband best friend past away last weekend. We have to go to the visitation tonight. Also hubby has to do the Masonic funeral tonight {the guy was the Master of the Masons lodge} Funeral is tomorrow. This will be so sad. This guy had a kidney transplant {donated by his wife} last Jan. and has been doing great. About a month ago his sugar dropped in his sleep and he passed out. they sent him to Vanderbilt in Nashville, but he never came out of the coma. They were sending him home, cause they said his brain was dead. His wife went home to get things ready for him, by the time she got home, she got the call, that he was gone. His name was Don. He was only 55.

How sad, Karen...my thoughts and prayers for your husband and his friend's family.
I think a prayer thread would be a wonderful idea for the off topic board...we could all use prayers now and then...

I just wanted to say that we went to the funeral today. I was so pleased to hear Vince singing Go Rest High durring the service. It was so weird. They played, Holly Dunn's singing Daddy's Hands. While it was playing I was thinking I wish they would play GRHOTM, never really thinking they would. After the service the next song they played, 2 notes into the song, and I knew it was it.

That song has brought peace for so many. Vince says he is constantly amazed that the song has become what it has. I love it for it's sincerity and simplicity. And the blend of the voices.

I'm so sorry to hear of your friends illness. I will keep in my thoughts and prayers.
My daughter lives in Arizona and her son (age 12) has a lot of problems with allegeries and sinus. He also has some asthma problems. I would like to know what Valley fever is, I have never heard of it. They have lived in AZ for 7 years.

Carolyn, Here is a link for Mayo's Clinic
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/valley-fe...0695/DSECTION=5There is a lot of information on causes and treatment. I knew a girl who had it and never knew (mild case). She went for X-ray for food handlers card. The Dr. ask her when she had it and she told him never .He said yes you have because the x-ray showed scarring. That's why I mentioned it in my friend's case. I am just hoping that the spot on his lung is from scarring from Vallet Fever. The Mayo's link will explain it much better than I can .
