You can't blame MCA for only shipping 100,000 copies to begin with, based on the past sales of Vince's last couple of albums.

Glad that they have alot more coming out. smile.gif Thanks Mary Anne for posting this.

I suppose I can kind of understand why the record company didn't put out more sets . 20/20 hind sight. blink.gif

Very cool! Thanks....

I think the record company made a mistake. Based on the quality of the product, price of the product, amount of T.V & press that was scheduled, amount of top quality guests, closeness to Christmas & the boxed set being a PERFECT Christmas present & the fact that "Next Big Thing" sold 67,000 copies in the FIRST WEEK. Why ship only 100,000?

That all could be true - I guess they thought at a 4 CD set that 100,000 would be enough to start....I am concerned as you are about it running out....but at this point hindsight is 20/20. I think MCA knows they lowballed it and are doing what they can to make up for it....
Let's hope they learned their lesson and there is plenty "in stock" from this point forward smile.gif
Cheers,
Charlie

I really don't think that MCA was even thinking about people buying for Christmas during first week sales, although they should have realized that most stores put new releases on sale first week, and people would definately buy the set as Christmas gifts while prices were reduced by about $10. Let's hope they do get plenty in stock for the stores before the Christmas rush begins!

The reason I brought up Christmas was because in the first week the new releases are always on sale. So @ Best Buy the Boxed set was only $17.99 a perfect Christmas present. The price usually goes up after the first week or few.

Exactly, Reggie...I think if MCA would have remembered/realized that most stores put new releases on sale the first week, and with Christmas coming up, they might have produced more to begin with...but they managed to forget those two major points. Oh, and one Best Buy in Nebraska the first day had the sets marked $13.99! Of course the price probably didn't stay that low that long because their mistake was pointed out to them by someone buying the set...can you imagine the demand had they kept the set marked at $13.99 for the whole week! *L*
