They might be reporting that the CMAs flopped, but the first two hours of the show still won it's time slot. The third hour was beaten out by CSI Miami.

Val - I understand...I just thought it was odd they used the term "flop"....yes ratings were down but still had 16 million viewers...."flopped" comared to what? But that is what people will read when they browse USA Today....

Maybe compared to other years ratings, they flopped. I do know when Vince was host, the show was almost always in the Top 10. I'd definately like to know why they considered the show a flop...unless they just mean that they watched and didn't like what they saw, so in their opinion, it was a flop.

I am pretty sure "flop" referred to it's ratings (number of viewers etc) that's what Nielson tracks....if they were down a million or so viewers I think I would have used the word "down" or "lower" - flop makes it sound like it had no viewers at all (at least to me).

Anyway - probably not what ABC hoped for ratings wise it's first year on that network....

Well,I watched the whole show.(Understanding ,I am just one person ) I have not missed a country award show for as long as I can remember. Those who chose not to watch,IMO, missed a pretty darn good show(with the exception of Miranda busting her guitar) didn't even like that when Garth did it and I love Garth . I wouldn't have missed it even if Vince hadn't been on but no way I would have missed it since he was there.
