Pretty much done with mine, Shirl...!!! I usually start shopping right after Halloween, but got a late start this year...I do alot of my shopping online and save running around in the rush of shoppers...saves my sanity too!!!

Giving money or gift certificates to places that they like.. My problem this year is what to get the granddaughter. Her wants are things that I think she should not have yet or too much money. Just what is Meaghan interested in this year, Becky? Maybe you cannot post as she might see. I am still getting ideas .

I bought my daughter a cell phone, had to switch to Verizon to get the deal, so now we will both have pink phones! Not really what I wanted, but oh well tongue.gif Other than that, I haven't even started shopping yet, made a partial list though. We are going shopping in San Francisco on Sunday, so maybe I'll see something there.

Being born in Kentucky and never having been to Church Hill Downs, I finally made it to the gift shop. Picked up a couple of things there for Christmas gifts. Then there are the box sets I have given so people can enjoy them before . It's GOLD ,don't ya just love it. cool.gif Leaving here tomorrow morning and get in to Phx around noon. Anxious to see my ktty He had excellent care and i called him last night to say hi. ????????????? No ,I am not over the edge yet. laugh.gif

I've started, but far from finished! I do have Taylor (my neice) finished...she's 4, so I got her a computer game and a coloring book. Still have everyone else to buy for, although I'm giving my sister and bil gift cards.

I picked up a few things for the girls (daughter and DIL) at the Biltmore a couple of weeks ago, also something for my Mama, a few things for our son, but overall, I still have all the rest to do. We're pretty much last minute shoppers, you know, the stress and all that.

I've only bought 2 things....a pair of shoes for my dad and a stroller for my 16-month-old nephew.

I don't have any money to get anything else, considering i have no job and no car.

I think that I'll try to make presents this year....I have found a lot of cute ideas for Christmas presents.

I have gotten just about everything I intend to buy. Did a lot on the Internet . Giving $$$$$$$$$$ to my grand kids and getting my cat a new bed so maybe he won't wake me up so early by standing on my chest laugh.gif

You know, the best kind of presents are the ones made by someone. I love those - they mean so much more than a present bought. Unfortunately, not many people have the time to make things anymore.

I agree with this, I just love homemade gifts! My daughter draws beautifully and drew a picture of our golden retriever (for her Dad). It sits on the mantle and is beautiful, looks just like he did before he passed away.

I may not be able to buy presents, but thank goodness God gave me an artistic talent that runs in my family. I draw free-hand, but I also like to make crafts...I just like hands-on things.

Our family mainly makes candy for Christmas. We make peanut butter balls, coconut balls, magic cookie bars, chocolate covered pretzels, and last...but not least....rum balls.

I personally would prefer making presents over buying them, but that's just me.

I'm the most un-artistic person I know, but one year I decided to make several different types of fancy cookies, some to eat and others for gifts. They turned out great, tasted good and looked beautiful. The only problem, no one believed I made them laugh.gif Now I stick to store bought items for gifts, I let my daughter do the home made things!

laugh.gif laugh.gif It's kinda weird. My dad, my brother, and I have artistic talent, but my mom and 2 sisters didn't.

Something you could have done about them not believing you....if they say "I don't believe that you made those." ..... blink.gif .......tell them "Well.....I don't believe that you can eat any then." (It's worked for my mom several times...just bring the recipe..if you had one for them.)

I've already made 2 presents since yesterday, but I still have a long way to go. rolleyes.gif Just on Dad's side, I have about 15 first-cousins and about 20 second-cousins. (Well...Dad IS the youngest of 9 kids.) My mom was the oldest of 6. (We lost my mom 2 years ago at the age of 44 to a massive coronary heart attack.) sad.gif sad.gif
