Vince was chosen as the "Best Of" Country Music for 2006 by Amazon Editors:
1) Vince Gill - These Days
2) Back Cadillac - Rosanne Cash
3) Blessing & Curse - Drive by Truckers
4) The Boxing Mirror - Alehandro Escovedo
5) Stand Still Look Pretty - The Wreckers
6) This Old Road - Kris Krisofferson
7) The Devil You Know - Todd Snider
8) Precious Memories - Alan Jackson
9) Men & Mascara - Julia Roberts
10) Pay The Devil - Van Morrison

(Quite the "eclectic" mix and NOT your typical "mainstream Nashville" music)

Also - just an FYI - These Days has moved up to # 12 on the Barnes & Noble sales chart smile.gif
(Holding in the 70's on Amazon).

Boy I'll say (quite the eclectic mix)...that really wasn't at all the group of albums I expected to be on that list...well, except for 'These Days'!!!

I agree. A lot of "Alt-country" I suppose....
I do have Rosanne's CD and Alan Jackson's CD....both I enjoy very much.
I also had a listen once to Julie Roberts latest CD and was impressed. I believe she may turn into the "next big star" on Country radio....(she get's tons of kudos for her first 2 CD's).

I agree, Charlie...Julie has an awesome voice. We haven't bought the newest album, tho...the only complaint I had with her last one was that all of the songs were slow and sad...are there any up-tempo songs on the new album??? If so, it will definitely be worth buying...
Debbie O. Fennell
Yes!!!!! Way to go Vince! I'm real proud of you.

Becky - It seems Julie is the singer of "sad songs" - I would say she makes it a point to go for "heartbreak" etc....so while I found it moving - there's only mid tempo to slower songs and again mostly "sad"
Only the song "Girl Next Door" would I classify as "uptempo"....(Sad , slower songs....which I do like to listen to myself from time to time....). Maybe not for the holidays though! smile.gif
