I realize media base charts track the single - hourly (or 24/7)...However,
now the latest singles from Brooks & Dunn along with the Clay Walker single have passed Vince and his single "lost" spins....

I know I'm preaching to the choir here but it just (wait I cannot say that word).....upsets me that after all the positive press, going platinum, earning a grammy nomination that "Country" radio - overall - does not embrace this single.

It's been out now for 20 weeks and has hovered at about #30 for months (Currently at #31). It's kind of like when Johnny Cash could not get on the radio, then won a ton of grammies for his "American Recordings" CDs and well gave "Nashville" "the bird" in one of the trade papers after he won all the awards....I know Vince won't do that (but sometimes I feel like doing it!) smile.gif

It does not seem like there is anything that will wake up country radio and at least give Vince a bit more airtime...SAD! jmho

It's moved up and gained in spins in the other "industry charts"- I think longetivity(sp) is the key here, especially as it is "Grammy voting" time now. the charts will "freeze" for a couple of weeks now as they prepare the "year end" charts, and ""The Reason Why" should rank on the top 40 on those charts.

I hope so Mary Anne....I just have to vent at times...I have seen so many singles "fly by" Vince....and get millions of more listeners and tons of more spins etc....Some artists on their second and third singles from their CD...etc.

Hillbilly Deluxe seems to have no problem flying up the chart this week...anyway, no worries, I suppose some airplay is better than no airplay (even if in light rotation etc).

I feel the same about radio virtually ignoring Vince's music. I can not and never will get it. I just got back from seeing yet another fantastic concert. That guy and that band are just the best , bar none. I would defy any other artist to put out the quality ,variety and professionalism Vince does. He is The CLASS act. cool.gif

I read an article where Vince admitted that it hurts that the likes of Alan Jackson and George Strait still get plenty of airplay, while he doesn't. It makes you wonder if some of these radio stations would recognise good music if it jumped up and bit them in the bottom ! mad.gif

LOL ! Now that would be funny to see! If I see or hear Before he cheats one more time I'll probably scream! The radio industry has never made much sense to me. I was hoping with Imus in the morning and the cross genre nature of this set that a lot of folks that don't listen to country radio are becoming Vince Gill fans. I was and still am I confess a sometime country fan. I like guitars and great vocals. Which explains why I'm a huge Vince fan! smile.gif
But hey if ya gotta vent here's the place to do it. A big Amen from the choir here! anna
