I just got off the phone with the casino where Vince will be playing February 9th and 10th. It was quite an ordeal. Tickets are on sale, but the woman in the box office would absolutely NOT tell me where my seats will be. She was adamant that they sell by 'best available' unless you buy in person at the box office. I explained to her that I live 350 miles from there and can't come by the box office! She finally relented and would go so far as to tell me that I would probably be 'around the fourth row'. I told her these are going to be my 93rd and 94th Vince concerts, so could she please have mercy? She finally loosened up and was pleasant, but boy she didn't start out that way. So after all that, I had her connect me over to the hotel reservation line to book a room, only to find out that the hotel is SOLD OUT already for Saturday night the 10th. And no, they won't put me on a cancellation list. Um, excuse me, but I'm driving 350 miles to attend the concerts that I just paid $240.00 in tickets for, are you sure you don't have some sort of room available for both nights?? An upgrade, suite, something? I got a very chilly SOLD OUT. I meekly asked if there was any place else in the vicinity to stay, and wound up with reservations at a place called the Evergreen Inn a mile down the road, in a "King Suite" for $62.00 a night. (As opposed to the $93.00 a night at the casino for a standard room).

Whew, what we go through to go hear Vince. Now I just hope we can get there, on the two lane road all the way across the UP. If it snows, we're toast-this trip surely will produce some interesting stories! Anybody else braving the wilds of the UP to attend?? If you are planning to, I strongly suggest you get your show tickets and a room reservation (somewhere!) without delay. I have all the local motel numbers in hand and will be happy to share.

OMG Kathy,I would have been on the roof with that one. Can hardly wait to hear what Vince has to say about being there .Just hope everyone makes it o.k. and has no problems. Maybe they will have an Indian Summer.

Kathy, what an ordeal! I would LOVE to go to these shows, but I just can't commit to that location. It's way too far across the UP to count on it being a clear day, without a winter blizzard there. They will probably have feet of snow by then, and I just am too chicken to put out the money and not be able to attend the show. My friend's parents live in Escanaba, and I've emailed them and told them about the show. They are somewhat into country, and they'll probably be at the show.

There are wolves up there, I'm hoping to go out on a 'wolf howl'. And maybe a dog sled ride. What else are we going to do between shows!

Oh my Kathy, I live in Michigan and had never heard of Harris so looked it up on the map. It is definitely too far for me to go to in the winter months as I hardly drive much at all then. February can be so brutal in this state I surely do not commit to much then.
Also think my husband will be having his second surgery about then so not planning much at all.

Lona, I had never heard of Harris either, I had no idea where it was. I went to Marquette a couple of times to dog shows, and boy that seemed like the ends of the earth. What we won't do to hear Vince!

Actually Harris is close to the Wisconsin border so probably closer for ones in Wisconsin to go than most of us in Michigan. Maybe someone from there will meet with you, Kathy.
Just have a good time as February is the month that we feel we need to get out of here but usually not further north.
