Even if he didn't get to talk to her. He meant well and he did the next best thing. I'm sure she was with god looking down and they both were proud to see what a wonderful person he is to be there for her.

Just proves the guy is human. He didn't have to come clean about forgetting, or try to do the next best thing. This is the kind of thing that makes him so well liked and respected.

Yes, I know but can you imagine how bad he felt when he found out the ladt passed away. Bless his heart. It was so good of him to sing at her services.
Becky
That was very sweet of Vince...he made it right the best way he could. And I'm sure that he family was grateful. Thanks for the link, Anna...

Oh I'm not trying to trivialise Vince's feelings Anna, I've no doubt he felt bad that he was too late, especially since he still remembers the incident. However, I do think his honesty is to be commended. He didn't have to tell that story, at the time of the incident he didn't have to admit that he'd forgotten, or talk to the son, or go to her funeral service and sing. He could have just let it go and done nothing, and I wonder how many celebrities would have done just that.

So true, Linda..and sad to say, I would bet there are alot of celebrities that wouldn't have even looked at that letter to start with. I would be willing to bet that some assistants are told not to bother passing on letters like that in the first place...
