EDWIN MCCAIN TO PERFORM AT VINCE GILL & AMY GRANT GOLF CLASSIC AUGUST, 1ST AND 2ND, 2011

Edwin McCain, the voice that launched a thousand weddings, will be a special guest of Grammy® Award winners Vince Gill and Amy Grant at the 8th Annual Vince Gill & Amy Grant Golf Classic to be held August 1st and 2nd at the St. Regis Aspen and Aspen Golf Club. The annual gala evening and golf tournament supports Challenge Aspen’s mission of making possibilities for people with disabilities.

Edwin McCain is known for his Top 5 single “I’ll Be” and hits “I Could Not Ask For More” and “Walk With You.” McCain and his band are preparing for the August 30 release of his new album “Mercy Bound”, and he will preview songs from this album on his upcoming west coast tour. McCain’s proven gift for connecting with listeners on deep emotional levels through his evocative voice and songwriting has fueled a 20 year career. Additional guest artists will be announced soon.

Vince and Amy will headline the evening, which will be complete with cocktails, live and silent auctions, dinner and an exclusive concert at the St. Regis Aspen on Monday, August 1st. On Tuesday, August 2nd, they and event co- host and golf legend Fred Funk will play the Aspen Golf Club, ranked 21st Best U.S. Municipal Golf Course by Golfweek Magazine for 2009-2010.

The comprehensive Golfer’s Deluxe package includes golf with PGA Tour Pros, celebrity friends and Challenge Aspen VIP disabled golfers, two tickets to the Monday night gala, personalized instruction from PGA Tour Pros, VIP gifts and complimentary food and beverages during all tournament functions. Cost is $1,500 per player or $6,000 per foursome.

A special group of Challenge Aspen servicemen and women will travel from the ISR (Institute of Surgical Research) at Brook Army Medical Center and many other communities across the nation to access the Alpine Summit – “Reach Your Peak” camp and will be honored during the event. Also recognized, will be Honorary Chair Lt. Col. Daniel T. Johnston, MD, MPH who has just returned from his tour of duty where he was assigned as the Brigade Surgeon for the first-ever “Enhanced” Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division.
