You could almost smell the pine needles of the Christmas tree and taste the eggnog in downtown Atlanta as Country superstar Vince Gill and his wife, Christian singer Amy Grant, brought their 12 Days of Christmas Tour to the historic Fox Theater. The husband and wife duo, who have a combined 33 Grammy wins between them, performed two hours of Christmas favorites for a sold out crowd.
Coming together from different backgrounds, Vince joked about the what the Hillbilly and the Christian girl could offer the audience. “I’ll get y’all liquored up on Saturday night, and Amy will save your souls on Sunday morning.”
The pair continued to share humorous anecdotes with the audience throughout the evening and, at one point, even had a snowball fight with the other band members onstage. Despite having numerous hits each, the concert’s musical selections stayed with the Christmas theme and the crowd sang along with the pair on many of the songs.
Vince Gill’s daughter, Jenny, a singer/songwriter who’s clearly inherited her father’s musical genes, is on the tour as a backup singer. She stepped up and performed a solo as her father looked on, obviously proud of his little girl who was married last year.
After the show, Vince and Amy met with fans and spent time with each, chatting and posing for photos and signing autographs.
It was night filled with laughter, with song and with love as Vince and Amy shared the holidays in their special way with the fans who came to hear the 2nd annual 12 Days of Christmas Tour at the Fox Theater.
