VINCE GILL HONORED BY THE T.J. MARTELL FOUNDATION IN FRANCES PRESTON’S MEMORY

The T.J. Martell Foundation in Nashville will honor award-winning BMI singer/songwriterVince Gill with the Frances Williams Preston Lifetime Music Achievement Award this weekend. The Award, one of the Foundation’s highest, is named in honor of BMI pioneer, Frances Williams Preston, whose leadership and contributions to the Nashville music community and beyond are legendary. In addition to her many accomplishments at BMI, Frances was President of the T.J. Martell Foundation Board of Directors and founder of the Frances Williams Preston Laboratories at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. Frances was the first recipient of this prestigious award in 2009, and it was later awarded to Michael Bolton (2011) and Kris Kristofferson (2012) in her name.

Concert Review: The Time Jumpers at The Hamilton – Engine 145I go to a lot of shows – between 75-100 a year – but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a band make playing music look as effortless as The Time Jumpers did Thursday night at their first performance in Washington, DC (a town that Vince Gill praised for its vibrant country and bluegrass history, even if “y’all don’t do much politically.”) Operating without a set list, the all-star band delighted a sold out crowd at downtown dinner club The Hamilton with two hours of timeless Western Swing.
