AND ‘A VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS: BRINGING PEACE ON EARTH’

Nashville, TN – 6 August 2012 -The‘A Very Special Christmas’ holiday music series, benefitting Special Olympics, will celebrate its 25th anniversary this holiday season with the first ever release of two new albums on October 16, each on a different label. Titles of the albums, as unveiled today, are: A VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS 25TH ANNIVERSARY on Big Machine Records and A VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS: BRINGING PEACE ON EARTH on Word Records.

Timothy P. Shriver (Chairman and CEO of Special Olympics), Scott Borchetta (President and CEO of Big Machine Label Group), Rod Riley (President and CEO of Word Entertainment), Jimmy Clark (Special Olympics athlete and Global Messenger), the Honorable Karl Dean (Mayor of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County), Francesca Battistelli (chart-topping Christian crossover artist, Dove Award winner) and members of Train were on hand in Nashville at Blackbird Studios, where Train is recording “Joy to the World,” to make the announcement. The artists unveiled the artwork for the new projects, which incorporates the legendary Keith Haring Madonna & Child artwork used historically on the series.

CATOOSA – The Owasso-based Folds of Honor Foundation capped a weekend of Memorial Day Weekend events on Monday with a gala, tribute and concert by the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa.

The day began with a celebrity golf tournament and carried into a fundraising and tribute dinner at the casino.

Oklahoma musician Vince Gill has participated every year for several years, and this one was no different. This time around, though, he was a guest of honor, said foundation founder Dan Rooney.

GRAMMY WINNER VINCE GILL TO BE HONORED BY FOLDS OF HONOR

The Folds of Honor Foundation announced Tuesday that Vince Gill will be honored and the band Rascal Flatts will perform a concert at a ceremony following the Patriot Cup celebrity pro-am golf tournament.

Beginning at 5 p.m. on May 28, a Patriot Cup Gala will feature a dinner and awards presentation followed by a benefit concert hosted by Rascal Flatts. A limited number of tickets for the gala are available to the public for $300 each and can be purchased starting April 12 through “The Joint” ticket office or at www.thepatriotcup.com.

“The gala continues to grow as a centerpiece for our community that reaches far beyond the Patriot Cup golf tournament,” said Major Dan Rooney, former F-16 fighter pilot and founder of the Folds of Honor Foundation. “It really brings focus to the needs of families of our great soldiers. I promise it will be one of the most moving events anyone will ever attend. And, with Rascal Flatts on stage, it will be a great cap to an incredible Memorial Day weekend.”

Keith Urban meticulously planned a lineup of some of country music’s most adored duos and groups for Tuesday night’s third annual We’re All for the Hall concert to benefit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

“The third time is the charm,” Urban told the sold-out crowd. “I can’t wait for you guys to see who is coming out tonight.”

But the evening’s chief surprise was for Urban: Country Music Hall of Famer Vince Gill took the stage to invite the “You Gonna Fly” singer to be the next member of the Grand Ole Opry. When Urban is inducted on April 21, he’ll become the first member not born in North America.

ALL FOR THE HALL BENEFIT TO TAKE PLACE ON APRIL 10TH

CAPITOL NASHVILLE artist KEITH URBAN’s “WE’RE ALL FOR THE HALL” benefit concert for THE COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM will return to NASHVILLE’s BRIDGESTONE ARENA on APRIL 10th. The show was originally scheduled for JANUARY 18th but had to be moved due to URBAN’s throat surgery.

The performers this year will include URBAN, VINCE GILL, RASCAL FLATTS, LADY ANTEBELLUM, THE BAND PERRY, LITTLE BIG TOWN, THOMPSON SQUARE, PISTOL ANNIES, ALISON KRAUS & UNION STATION, ALABAMA, THE OAK RIDGE BOYS, DIAMOND RIO and the BLUE SKY RIDERS.
