About

One of the most beloved artists in modern country music, Vince Gill is known for his masterful songwriting, soulful guitar playing and warm, soaring tenor voice — all delivered with the quick wit and generosity of spirit that have made him a favorite among fans and fellow musicians alike.

Gill’s breakthrough came in 1990 with “When I Call Your Name,” which earned both the Single and Song of the Year awards from the Country Music Association along with a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance, Male. Over the decades that followed, he has become one of the most decorated artists in country music history, winning a total of 19 CMA Awards — including a record four Song of the Year honors — along with 22 Grammy Awards and eight awards from the Academy of Country Music. In 2025, the CMA honored Gill with its prestigious Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his lasting impact on country music.

A gifted songwriter, Gill was named a BMI Icon in 2014 and inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005. He entered the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007 and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012 — fittingly placed alongside that of his wife, Amy Grant. Gill was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry in 1991, a membership he still treasures, and he continues to appear regularly on the historic stage.

Across a career spanning more than four decades, Gill has released more than 20 albums, sold over 30 million records and charted 45 singles. A highly respected collaborator, he has appeared on more than 1,000 albums and worked with artists ranging from Barbra Streisand, James Taylor and Sting to Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson and George Jones. His production work includes projects for Amy Grant, Ashley Monroe, The Time Jumpers and Wendy Moten.

A musician’s musician and inductee of the Musicians Hall of Fame, Gill has also been a member of several influential bands, including Pure Prairie League, The Notorious Cherry Bombs and The Time Jumpers. Since 2017, he has toured with the legendary Eagles, helping carry forward the legacy of one of rock’s most iconic groups.

In 2025, Gill began releasing 50 Years From Home, an ambitious series of EPs celebrating five decades since he first left home to pursue a life in music. The project features a wide range of new songs that reflect the artistry, humor and heart that have defined Gill’s remarkable career.

Gill will also return to the road in summer 2026 with a new tour beginning in June, giving fans across the country a chance to experience his timeless songs, unmatched musicianship and unmistakable voice live on stage.
